So far my Sr. kids are looking great! I am extremely pleased with them. All 3 are Adonis's daughters.
1. Merry Oaks LS White Dove. Tansy's daughter. I hadn't planned on keeping her, but as she's matured a little bit I've realized that her conformation is really quite nice. She is long, level and upstanding with excellent dairy character.
She has a nice set of rear legs, her front legs are very strong and straight blending smoothly into her chest and withers. Dove is actually looking a lot like her dam-but with major improvements. Fingers crossed she freshens with an udder that takes more after her sire's side than her dam's. I can't wait to get this doe in the show ring!

2. Merry Oaks LZ Dancing Days.
Also Tansy's baby, Dove's twin.
This kid reminds me so much of her sire's dam, Amanda.
And what great doe to take after! Busy-B&D Amy's Amanda is a permanent champion, Linear Appraised with a 92EEE and took 5th place at Nationals in 2010! Though it's partly her color that reminds me of Amanda, I'm pleased to see that Amanda's grandbabies are inheriting her excellent conformation as well.
Dancer is a nice level doe kid with an excellent rump and topline, strong feet and legs and overall well blended and smoothly built.
Another doeling that I'm very excited to get out in the show ring.

And... #3. Merry Oaks LS Roll Gypsy Roll.

LOVE this doeling!
Partly because I waited 7 years for her arrival, but also because she's already living up to my expectations, looking even nicer than her dam, who is a doe I really like.
This doe kid is so much like her dam it's scary...I don't know if I can handle another Poppy!
But even if she inherited her mother's stubborn, greedy, pig-headed attitude, she also inherited her dam's conformation. Gypsy is a gorgeous little doe- very long bodied, strong and level over the topline and rump with excellent dairy character. Hopefully she'll milk as well as her dam too! I suppose you could say I'm VERY excited to get this purdy girl out in the ring...and I'm even MORE excited to see her freshen. I've never freshened a full Alpine doe out of Poppy, I'll be happy if Gypsy's udder is anything like her dam's and with Adonis as her sire...it should be even better!
All 3 of these girls will be freshening as yearlings. I'm getting a little impatient now to see my Jr. doe kids and see what I'll have for 2017 dry yearlings. Empress is on Day 146 now, hopefully we will have babies soon! Tokyo is on Day 142, her udder is really filling up a lot(and looking awesome too!)
